Gary Ralph Shaffer, 76, of Huntington, WV, passed away August 19, 2022. He was born June 16, 1946, in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Ralph Vincent and Gertrude Goldie McKinney Shaffer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of Kathy Stone Shaffer; two daughters, Kristin Shaffer of Hurricane and Amy Rumbaugh (Chris) of Mooresville, NC; one son, Andrew Shaffer of Huntington; two sisters, Wynne Proudfoot (Chuck) of Grafton, WV and Marjory Ballard (Jim) Grafton; grandchildren, William Shaffer and his mother, Kristye, Connor Rumbaugh and Quinn Rumbaugh; and nephew, Chad Proudfoot. Private graveside services will be held at Woodmere Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter or to Little Victories Animal Rescue.
