1957 - 2022
Carol Ann Moneyhun, of Huntington, left this earthly home for heaven on Aug. 25th, 2022 after a short illness. It would be a mistake to say that Carol lost her battle, she never stopped fighting. When most would have been frightened, she continued with unending optimism and positivity. Through her, we know what courage and an indomitable spirit look like. Carol will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her love for her family and her wonderful sense of humor.
She would always give her opinion without flinching or apology if asked, but never dismissed you for your choice and always welcomed you home if things didn’t work out, often accompanied by your favorite meal (maybe with a small side of “told you so”). Carol loved to cook and was quite accomplished in the kitchen and she loved spending time with her family and with her beloved dogs Jack and Jake.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Leon C. and Jo Ann Coldiron and a brother, Leon C. Coldiron Jr. She is survived by her husband, Jim Moneyhun, son, Matt Goheen and daughter, Tori Moneyhun, brother, Rick Coldiron and numerous nieces and nephews.
While Carol’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her life and spirit. Her family invites the community to join them in a celebration of life ceremony. It will take place Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Wallace Funeral Home, 1159 Central Avenue, Barboursville, WV from 2-4 p.m.
Carol’s family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for all they do for our loved ones and families during these difficult times. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Donations can be made by check, or online at hospicehouseofhuntington.org/donate/.
Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Carol's passing. She was a wonderful person and friend. She was always just a phone call away and always had time for whoever needed her.

Dear Tori, Even though I have lost touch with you I am still your Nana as well as Cory’s. I have fond memories of you at my wedding to Homer and times you were in church with your dear mother. I’ll can’t be with you and your father tomorrow as my brother’s funeral is tomorrow in Mason county. My email is included and if you have a need let me know. My heart aches for you??

Carol will be greatly missed. I will always hear her voice telling me "Lindsey, you know I'm going to fight and keep my faith in God." That's what she did, she fought and won. While we grieve on earth and remember all the good times with Carol, just know she is dancing and singing in Heaven. My prayers are with the family, especially her children whom she loved dearly. Until we meet again. Love Always.

Carol was as beautiful inside as she was out. She was funny. She was rotten. Most of all she was kind. I'll never forget her genuine heart. I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to share many beautiful conversations about our families over the years. Her friendship was a true blessing. ?

I do not know your family but my heart goes out to you all. Carol was a joy to work with. She helped me many times when I was in a panick. She spoke of her family and dogs often. I will really miss her. She was a very nice, honest and funny lady. I'm sorry for your family's loss. I will say a prayer for her and to ease your grief.

Carol was one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure to have in my life. She was a spitfire with a heart of gold that showed me what it was like to love someone that wasn't family unconditionally. She was like my second mom growing up. Even though we didn't speak much these past few years, I always felt the love and knew that she cared about me and my well being. She cooked for me almost every night in my younger years, and she was the best at it. Her chicken Alfredo casserole was second to none, and I can remember her making sure I had it on my birthday. Her fighting spirit and unfathomable generosity will live on in everyone that was lucky enough to know her. I hope her next life is easier than the fight she had to put up in this one. I love you so much Carol. You were my second mom, a role model, a fighter, a shoulder to cry on, and someone that made everyone you came in contact with feel special and loved. Until we meet again.
So much love,
Your Connor ??

Carol is missed by many of her co-workers, including myself. She always had a positive attitude about work and welcomed calls from me with questions. Hugs to all of you, from all of us, at BB&T/Truist.
