Oh..where to start.
I’ve known Ron since I was 12 years old, being the annoying kid at the R/C field asking a million questions. Ron always answered them all and was always willing to help figure out any problem and teach me. Ron was a hell of a guy and didn’t care what people thought about him! Every time we were together, we were always laughing about something. I was always fascinated with the hot new on the market plane, jet engine, helicopter and Corvette he would buy. Ron would always invite me over to come check out his new toys! I remember the first time we were in his backyard trying to start his new turbine engine, I was about 16, neither of us knew what we were doing. We thought it was going to explode and kill us when smoke started flying everywhere! We survived…
I always enjoyed going over to Rons house and being fascinated with all the R/C gold “junk” he had laying around that I could never afford. 90% of the time I would leave with something because he would say “Hell I didn’t even know I had that, I’m never going to use it, you take it and enjoy it” And that’s exactly what I did!
We both were into fast cars! He would take me rides in his Corvettes when he got a new one.(If you knew Ron he bought a new corvette almost every year) I remember needing a new motor for my old truck I was always working on. The next week, Ron went to a car show where they were waffling of a new crate motor. He tried to persuade the car show director with a couple crisp 100$ bills to win it. It was a fail lol.
I always told Ron “Don’t go out and wreck that ZR1, cause im gonna want that one day!” He would chuckle and say “Here are the keys”
I thought it was funny that he would take ol’ Smokey to Arbys just about every day and get him a few roast beef sandwiches.
My last words with Ron were at a car show just last summer. We talked for a long time about dumb stuff we did flying, and how we always seemed to piss off all the old guys! We talked about the brand new C8 he just got. (Ron always had a story on his Vettes and always were special ordered to his liking)
Really going to miss Ron.
He 100% helped shaped me as a young kid into the person I am today!

Ron was a great guy...I always enjoyed when he was at the flying field....He would drive his newest fastest Corvette. Flying radio controlled jet aircraft was reserved for only the best pilots....I also enjoyed hearing about his travels to China....Just an awesome guy to know, and call a friend....We'll miss him...

Although I never met Ron personally I feel like I have known him for a long time. I Purchased, a model jet engine, and an airplane from Ron a few years ago. We have since continued to correspond on the Internet and Facebook. I only found of his passing this morning, I am sad to see him leave us. I send my condolences to his family. I know he was a good man.

After sharing many fun times with Ron I lost touch when I took a break from the RC hobby. Very heartbroken to learn of his passing. Ron was outspoken and didn't apologize for it. He had such a witty sense of humor I was often slow to the punch line, and I could see him cracking a smile watching me think about it. So so smart. He taught me many things about transmitters, motors and flight in general. Some of my best memories are hanging out at the flying field on warm Sunday afternoons with Ron and the guys. Sorry I lost touch Ron. I'll never forget the fun times we shared.

He always spoke to me at church and said hello. I didn't know him well but, he seemed very kind and friendly. I appreciated the limited time I knew him.
