Chad Douglas Melson, 46, of Huntington, WV, husband of Paula R. Melson, passed away October 14, 2022. He was born May 18, 1976, in Lima, Ohio, a son of Tommie and Rose Melson. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Melson; paternal grandparents, Tom and Maxine Melson; maternal grandmother, Gladys Freeman; aunt Linda Stimmel; and uncle Jimmy Melson. Chad was an avid Ohio State Football fan and enjoyed fishing. His other passion - was his grandchildren, he loved being their “Papa”. In addition to his wife, survivors include his two loving children, son Tyler D. Melson and daughter, Alayna E. Melson; granddaughter, Phoenix Melson; grandson, Courtland Melson; his mother, Rose Melson; sister, Katrina Melson; and special nephew, Tommie Lemon along with a host of cousins, aunts and friends. Chad will be greatly missed and forever loved by all that knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
