Emily Lucille Sutphin, 85, of Lesage, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Pleasant Valley Health Care. She was born January 26, 1938 in Hamlin, W.Va., a daughter of the late Earsel and Vinnie Lucas Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Buster Roy Sutphin; three sons, Buster Roy Sutphin II, Ernie Sutphin and Edward Sutphin; two brothers, Ralph Glenn Davis and Clarence Buddy Davis; three sisters, Rosella Bias, Josephine Harden and Garnett Flynn and by one son-in-law, Ray Bowser. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Gibbs (Sonny), Mary Bowser, Lora Wooten (David) and Lisa Betts (Patrick); one son, Dewayne Sutphin (Laura); three sisters, Sivalean Arnold, Louise Norris and Wilma Jenkins; one brother, Clinton Davis; daughter-in-law, Sheila Sutphin; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 with Pastor John Gue officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va.
