
Charles Leo Davis, Jr., 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia, after a brief illness. Charles was born on October 16, 1943 to the late Charles Leo Davis, Jr., and Geneva Davis in Huntington, West Virginia. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucy M. Davis of 40 years. Charles was a faithful member of Gateway Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia, where he previously served as a Deacon. He was a devoted member of the Honda Goldwing Motorcycle Club, the Italian Club and the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Charles loved life, loved working in his yard and loved riding his motorcycle. Charles was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved Lucy, and faithfully cared for her during her cancer journey. Charles especially loved asking people he met every day, “Has anyone told you today that Jesus loves you? Well, He does and so do I.” A motta that his amazing church family spreads around town each and every day. Survivors include sister-in-law, Linda Rosi of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; niece Kim (Eric) Fichtelberg and their children Tyler and Andi of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; cousins Patti Rowe, Mike Davis, and Kathy (Pat) Wolfe of Proctorville, Ohio, Linda Adkins, Dale (Anna) Poston, and Jeyenne Burgess of Barboursville, West Virginia. A private graveside service will be held at Enon Cemetery in Salt Rock, West Virginia.
