 James David "Jimmy" Childers, 86, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October, 28, 2023, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev.John Gue and Rev. Alan Frye. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born September 4, 1937, in Salt Rock, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Ollie Smith Childers. He was preceded in death by one sister, Janetta Skidmore and one granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Faulkner. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fern Ross Childers; two daughters, Charlotte Lynne Childers of Huntington and Katrina Childers Miller of Barboursville; two sons, David Childers (Shannon) of Salt Rock and Mark (Lori) Childers of Ona; one brother, Jack (Millie) Childers of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Chris Faulkner, Samantha Janney (Brett), Ashley Betz (Kevin) of Virginia Beach, Va., Tiffany Odell (David), Leah Deschambault, Gabrielle Childers, Andrew Childers, and Chase Childers; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson Betz, Isabella Janney, Izaya Smith and Mackenzie Oakes. I love you paw paw.. I wished I could have had more time with you. Life is just too short, but I am glad to have known you, just wished we had the chance to talk more. I’m so sorry you were lost and in pain in the end, but a lot of people were there for you, and loving you very much like you deserved. I hope you are finally at peace. I love you. ❤️
