
David Clay Holley, 83, of Milton, WV passed away on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV. David was born in Putnam County in West Virginia. He is the son of the late Early Francis Holley and Nanny (Whitt) Holley. David was preceded in his death by his son, Robert C. Holley, and daughter, Jaimee Holley, and brother, Hersel Holley. David retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. David previously lived with his beloved wife and surviving spouse, Betty Lou (Heath) Holley, and children in Prospect, CT before his retirement and move to Milton, WV.
His surviving children and spouses are: John G. Holley and Beth (Villano) Holley, Michael McDonough and Heather (Bartley) McDonough, Sonya Gode and Ken Gode, Lisa Marie Holley, Lorie Jean Holley, David Early Holley and Joelyne (Plant) Holley, Cindy Geddes and the late Roddy Geddes, Joshua Holley and Nicole Holley, Kimberly Hayes, Ricky Rivera, Matthew Holley and Jessica Holley, Loriessa Holley, Kathy (Holley) Adams and Johnathan Adams, Kristy Holley, Daniel Alves, Michele Holley, Jacob Holley, and William Holley
David’s grandchildren are: Raebeth Holley, Rachel Holley, Connor McDonough, Ethan McDonough, Justin Gode, Tyler Gode, Chelsea Geddes, Roddy Geddes Jr., Brooke Geddes, Abigail Holley, Morgan Holley, Ella(Rowan) Holley, Robert Holley, Noah Holley, Elijah Holley, Jordan Holley, Cassidy Fitzpatrick, Dustin Wyatt Grubb, Ryan Wrigley, Alyssa Wrigley, and Mason Adams.
David’s surviving brothers and sisters including spouses are Joseph Holley (Joyce Holley), Marvin Holley (the late Linda Faye Holley), Janice Blackshire (the late George William Blackshire), and Judy Houck (the late John Thomas Houck). Bessie Holley (surviving spouse of the late Hersel Holley)
David has many nieces, nephews, extended family, former foster children and friends that will be missing him.
The “Celebration of the Life” will be held on December 2nd, 2023 at the Milton Presbyterian Church at 12 p.m. The church is located at 1204 Smith Street. A luncheon for friends and family will follow at the church.
