Ethel Meda (Smith) Adkins of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Huntington, WV, age 88, was received into the arms of her Savior Wed. Dec. 6, 2023 in Rock Hill. She was rejoined with her loving husband of 60 years, Rush Farley Adkins also of Rock Hill, formerly of Huntington. Ethel was born in Spicy Hollow off Millers Fork, WV on Oct. 23, 1935 to Earl Wayne Smith and Libby Ferguson Smith. She had been a member of the Grace Gospel Church for many years prior to moving from Huntington. She is survived by Dawn Slavens (Gary) of Gastonia, SC and Steve Adkins (Carol) of Greer, SC, Beverly Spielberger (Jim) of Cleveland, OH and Keith Adkins of Tucson AZ. She was loved and called Nana by her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Rachel Britton, Samuel Slavens, Hannah Adkins, Moriah Fox and John Slavens; great-grandchildren Reese Britton, Harper Britton, Jude Fox, and Tate Britton. A viewing will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Grace Gospel Church Sanctuary at 1111 Adams Avenue in Huntington, WV followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at same. Pastor Keith Wiebe Jr. will be officiating the ceremony. Burial will be in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne. Wallace Funeral Home of Barboursville will be assisting the family.
