1945 - 2023
 Denzil Ray Clagg, born October 25, 1945, in Milton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023, in his home in Wilson, North Carolina. Denzil worked at Blenko Glass in Milton, West Virginia, prior to Kerr Glass in Huntington, West Virginia. He then relocated to Wilson, North Carolina, and worked at Kerr Glass until his retirement from Verallia. There was nothing in this world, besides his grandchildren, that Denzil loved more than his classic cars. Denzil loved restoring and showing the cars he collected. He won many first-place awards in different cities with his 1965 Chevy Impala SS and his 1970 Chevy CST 10 truck. Denzil is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen Griffith Clagg and sons, Jeffrey (Shana) of Oxford, North Carolina, and Christopher (Kristi) of Bailey, North Carolina. Along with his wife and children, his prized possession grandchildren: Ashley Clagg Boyd (Zac) of Oxford, North Carolina, Joshua Clagg of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, Mallory Clagg of Bailey, North Carolina and Samantha Clagg of Bailey, North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother Dana (Christy) of Lesage, West Virginia, and sisters Kay (Dave) Ward of Sanford, North Carolina, Melba Clary of Glenwood, West Virginia, and Melissa (Roy) Shull of Glenwood, West Virginia. Denzil was the son of the late Ken and Dorothy Reynolds Clagg. He is preceded in death by brothers, Darren and Dennis, and brother-in-law Eddie Clary. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, West Virginia, with burial to follow in Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to hospice care are greatly appreciated. Karen, so sorry to hear of Denzil's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was hoping to come but our older son has M.S. and chair bound and it was his morning for bathing, etc. In case you cannot place me, you and I sold toys together, I think. Either toys or jewelry back way back when. Again, God bless and we sent our prayers.
