1938 - 2024
 Donald Frederick McCroskey, 85, of Ona, WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born August 7, 1938, in Milton, WV, a son of the late Lester Delmar and Gertrude Davis McCroskey. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Constance McMellon McCroskey; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Jeff Dailey and son, Charles Donald McCroskey, all of Ona; sister, Saundra Richardson of Venice, FL; brother-in-law, Mike and Emma McMellon; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Erika) Dailey, Naylon Dailey and Niles (Lauren) Dailey; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Leighton. He is also survived by Lisa H. Hall who has been like a daughter to him and the rest of the extended family: Monica, Shawn, Madison, and Garrett Mount; Megan, TJ and Hallston Simyak; Matt, Chelsea, Gracyn and Gunner Hall. Don was retired from Special Metals. He was involved in Gospel Music and sang in gospel quartets for over 60 years. He was a Deacon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he served the Lord faithfully for many years. Don was a commissioner with the Greater Huntington Park Board since 1995 and was also on the Board of the GKRC&D. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Jude officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

So very sorry for your loss. Don was a good person with a good heart and always strived to do the best for those with whom he worked. He was an important part of the WV Association of RC&Ds and surely an important RC&D member in his area. He will be missed.

I had the opportunity to work with Don for many years on the state RC&D council.He made my serving as state RC&D president as eazy as posible kowning he had all the finacials in order and when I had a question he alway know the answer.So deeply sorry for your lose.

Don and I worked together and car pooled together for almost 30 years. He was a good friend and golfing buddy. He will be missed by his family, friends snd church. Each of us need to support and pray for his family. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend his final service but will keep the family in my prayers.

Don worked with my dad, Jack Morris. He visited my parents at Hilton Head and followed up with them. I appreciated his friendship with them! Peace to all of you.
