1936 - 2024
 Forrest Dale Alford, 87, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born May 27, 1936 in Milton, W.Va., a son of the late Early Wine and Missouri Edmonds Alford. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Alford; one son, Rick Alford; and thirteen brothers and sisters, Thomas, Early Wine “Junior”, Richard “Dick”, Milton “Stub”, Bill, Paul, Wendell, Herbert, Mabel Barboe, Audrey Arthur, Eva “Tootle” Holley, Charlene Null and Lois “Perk” Davis. He is survived by two daughters, Veronica Alford and Freda Canterbury and husband Tom; one son, Brad Alford; and four grandsons, Steve Cooley and wife Jennifer, Barry Alford, Jeremy Dye and Zach Canterbury. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lunsford Cemetery, Milton. Veronica, Freda and Brad. I’m so sorry you lost your Dad. He was the last of a generation. He was so fun, and I always loved it when you all came to Colorado. He loved you and your mom. My very deepest sympathy to you guys. Wish I could be there with you. Love you all.

Our deepest sympathies for your family. May the Lord comfort you all in this time of loss and deep sadness. I have fond memories of Uncle Forrest, from his raising little Bambi's to his fun published stories. he always made life a more interesting adventure.
