
Robbin Sue Ross (McClure) passed away on February 21, 2024, in Eugene, Oregon, at the age of 66. Robbin died in the loving arms of her closest family after a brave battle with cancer.
She was born on June 5, 1957, in Huntington, WV. Her mom, Joyce, owned a local yarn and bath goods store in Barboursville and her dad, William, was a local firefighter. Robbin would tell stories of when the fire whistle would go off and her daddy would run out the door to help people. She grew up in Barboursville, marrying her high school sweetheart and having two wonderful children.
Robbin will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Holly Ross McEwen and husband James, son Justin Ross and wife Bethany, grandsons Pax and Saul, and a wealth of family and friends from coast to coast. She was preceded in death by her father Bill, mother Joyce, sister Kandy, and husband Bird Dog.
Robbin had a kind and gentle heart, and was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had a special gift with children and was known for her patient spirit. Her hobbies included playing with her grandkids, making friends, brightening someone's day, volunteering, walking in the park, and watching wildlife. She cherished spending time at the Oregon Coast and with her family. She was known for her random acts of kindness, being such a bright light to everyone she met and a rainbow in many people's days.
In her career, Robbin served as an Administrative Assistant at Rubberlite Incorporated, Secretary at Barboursville Elementary School, and Educational Assistant at Clear Lake Elementary School. She worshipped at Barboursville First United and Steel Memorial.
A memorial service in Robbin's honor will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Village of Barboursville Elementary School meal program for students with extra need, a cause close to Robbin's heart.
