1945 - 2025

Sherlene Brooke PerrySherlene Brooke Perry, 80, of Milton, W.Va., passed away July 12, 2025, with her family by her side at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a short illness. She was born April 29, 1945, a daughter of the late Newman W. Mitchell and Lovena Z. Mitchell. She is also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Nannette S. Perry; three siblings, Barbara Jean Mitchell, Sharlene S. Black and Ralph E. Mitchell and one son-in-law, Shawn F. Manley. Sherlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, favorite aunt, cousin and great friend to so many people. She touched the lives of many with her humor, sensitivity, warmth, hugs and daily phone calls. She was a longtime member of Bias Chapel Independent Church and a 50 year member of the Milton Chapter No. 149 Eastern Star. Sherlene will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Roger G. Perry; little dog, Bella; children, Tony R. Perry (Kristy) and Annette S. Manley; one granddaughter, Courtney M. Perry, who was the apple of her eye and Courtney’s mother Jean Ann Nance; six step-grandsons, Jacob, Justin and Jeremy Harvey and Michael, Christopher and Ryan Manley; four siblings, Serena Lawson, Karen Morrison, Judy Ball (Dennis) and Bernard Mitchell; sister-in-law, Judy E. Bias; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. We are certain that Sherlene is enjoying a huge reunion at the pearly gates with all her family and friends that have gone before her. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s OHICU for the excellent care that was provided in her last days with us. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Dorin Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Cemetery, Milton. Friends may visit from Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Online condolences may be sent to www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
