 Tommy Lynn Tygrett, 74, passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2025. Tom was born in Fayetteville, West Virginia, and grew up in Jackson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Jean Tygrett of Ripley, WV, and his daughter, Jennifer Tygrett. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gwen Tygrett, and their two daughters, Melissa Woodson (Jeff) from Mechanicsville, VA, and Megan Ray (Todd) of Barboursville, WV. He is also survived by his siblings, Steve Tygrett, Rich Tygrett, and Debbie Armstead. Tom was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren who were his whole world — Ava, Addison, and Parker Ray, and Chase and Cole Woodson. Tom’s face would light up whenever he saw his grandchildren; they brought him endless joy and happiness. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Collins and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center for their exceptional care and compassion for Tom during this difficult time. Celebration of life service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2025, at Highlawn Presbyterian Church, 2814 Collis Avenue, Huntington, WV, 25702. To Gwen and family,
Leland (Junior) and I are so very sorry for your loss. We have such fond memories of our time with you and Tom when we were all in our 20s. He then helped me with furniture repair when he had his shop in Barboursville. We enjoyed our contact with him. Tom was always cheerful and helpful.
Our hearts are with you in this difficult time. Much love.
