Jennie B. Flynn Weis - 1931-2006

Jennie B. Flynn Weis, 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, in Greenbriar Healthcare Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Weis was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Irvine, Ky., a daughter of the late Harry A. and Louise Long Flynn.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Weis; brothers, Harry Flynn Jr. and Ralph Flynn; and a grandson, Cameron Matthew Weis.

She was retired from Pollock's Jewelers in Ashland, was a member of Holy Family Church, Daughters of the King, and Holy Family Choir and an auxiliary volunteer at King's Daughters Medical Center.

Surviving are a son, Joseph K. Weis and his wife, Rita of Richmond, Ky.; three daughters, Katherine Weis of Ashland, Marcia Zachem and her husband, Michael of Flatwoods, Ky., and Therese Smith and her husband, Douglas of Dublin, Ohio; two brothers, Alton Flynn of Richmond and Arthur Paul Flynn of Beattyville, Ky.; a half brother, Nelson Flynn of Jeffersonville, Ind.; a sister, Irene Lutes of Irvine; grandchildren, Megan Weis, Aaron Zachem and Christopher Zachem, Rachel Smith and Bekkah Schmidt; and great-grandchildren, Collin Hite and Kaleb Zachem.

A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Holy Family Church by Father John Noe. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-MarshallSteen Chapel, 3409 13th St., in Ashland.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to Cameron Weis Memorial Golf Scholarship Fund, Russell High School, 709 Red Devil Lane, Russell, KY 41169.

To all of Jennie's family, We were saddened to read of Jennie's death. We will always remember her infectious laugh and smile. Our prayers are with you.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time of trial. She was a treasured aunt and we have memories of that gift. Sorry we can't be there. May God Bless you all.
