Ellouise Slone Cooper Keith, born April 19, 1919, on Short Street in South Ashland to the late John Andrew and Eula Day Slone, passed away March 21, 2006, of natural causes in Danville, Ky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Jess Frederick Cooper in 1953 and Walter Richard Keith in 1985; and brothers Jack M. Slone, Donald O. Slone, Wade E. Slone and Freddie R. Slone.
She graduated from Ashland High School in 1937 and retired from Ashland Inc. in the accounting department. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, the Prime Timers Club, the Ashland Inc. Retirees Club, the Arcoettes Women's Club and the Music, Art and Travel Club. She was past noble board of Margaret Rebecca Lodge 29, past matron of Ashland 119, Order of Eastern Star, past royal matron of Harmony Court 11, past president of the Ashland Business and Professional Women's Club and an advisory board member of the Salvation Army. She was a Kentucky colonel.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen Slone Smith and Ruth Slone Spatig.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Mike Rice.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
