Marcus Ermal Davis, age 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Woodland Oaks Care Facility after a long illness.
Mr. Davis was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Thealka, Ky., a son of the late Charley Garfield and Amanda Ellen Davis.
He was preceded in death by ex-wife, Elizabeth King Davis; his second wife, Theda Cooksey Davis; and his third wife, Frances Pugh Davis.
He was retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Surviving are three daughters, Deanna Morton Warner of Mountain Brook Ala., Paula Davis Raghuraman of West Chester, Ohio, and Evelyn J. Davis of Redlands, Calif.; a grandson, Charles David Loar; two granddaughters, Karen Loar Ryan and Amy Kay Raghuraman; and five great-grandchildren, Josie Loar, David Loar, Kristen Francola, Jessica Ryan and Melissa Ryan. His last months were made easier by the caring help of Loretta Wilson and Joyce Dixon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Wayne Watts.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
