Burnett William “B.W.” Whitt, age 91, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, April 17, 2006, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility in Ashland.

He was born Sept. 29, 1914, in Sandy Hook, Ky., a son of the late Russell Burdine and Alice Pennington Whitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 1999 by his wife of 59 years, Lorraine Moore Whitt.

He was an associate with Britton & Whitt Motors in Louisa, Ky., and Gallaher's Ford in Huntington, W.Va. He was a 1938 graduate of the University of Kentucky and a life member of Apperson Lodge. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Scottish rite, a 50-year member of El Hasa Shrine in Ashland, a graduate of Sandy Hook High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland.

He was the last survivor of six children.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Harry Weber of Simpsonville, S.C.; two grandchildren, John Burnett Weber and his wife, Lisa, of Matthews, S.C., and Joel Vance Weber and his wife, Heather, of Greenville, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Kathryn Marie Weber and Sarah Ann Weber.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2006, at Rose Hill Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Quinten Lockwood. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

There will be no visitation.

Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
