Murvel Harrison Conley (1924-2006)
Murvel Harrison Conley, 82, of Ashland, Ky., died May 3, 2006, in Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
He was born April 11, 1924, in Riceville, Ky., a son of the late Lawrence and Frankie Pelphrey Conley.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin L. Conley, formerly of Marysville, Ohio, and Herbert Conley, formerly of Troy, Ohio.
He was a retired agency manager for Commonwealth Life Insurance in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Carpenter Conley; a son, Larry J. Conley and his wife, Betty of Lexington; a sister, Avonelle Phelps of Ashland; grandchildren, Christopher L. Conley and his wife, Laura of Winchester, Ky., Carrie L. Hazlett and her husband, Mike of Winchester, and Channon K. Horn and her husband, Mark of Lexington; great-granddaughters, Claire Horn and Morgan Hazlett; and great-grandsons, Will Hazlett and Carson Horn.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Don Mathis. Burial will be in Conley Family Cemetery, State Road, Salyersville, Ky.
