Ann Osenton - 1923-2006
Ann Osenton, age 82, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006, in Hospice Care Facility.
She was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Elmer F. and Laura Belle Gray Messersmith.
She was a retired cafeteria manager with Crabbe Elementary School with 20 years of service. She was a member of Ashland First Church of the Nazarene, where she was the Primary Girls Sunday School teacher for 30 years, was a graduate of Ashland High School and was a Kentucky colonel.
Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Vernal “Bun” Osenton of Ashland; a daughter, Annetta (Phillip) Thrasher of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Mattie (Don) Houck of Ashland; and three grandchildren, Matthew Thrasher and Aaron (Brooke) Thrasher, both of Louisville, Ky., and Laura (Dustin) McDavid of Kansas City, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Steve Ruby and Don Houck. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
