Margaret B. Saunders, died June 14, 2006, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was the last survivor of nine brothers and sisters born to Parthena and Nelson Bailey and was born Sept. 2, 1912, in Wyoming County, W.Va. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.L. “Jack” Saunders.

Mrs. Saunders is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Gail and Richard Rous, Kay and John Paul Barker of Ashland, Janet and Keith Payne of Worthington, Ohio; grandchildren Jim and wife Beth Rous of Nicholasville, Ky., Mary Beth Rous of Lexington, Ky., Bruce Saunders Rous of Ashland and Rebecca and husband Lance Vest of Villa Hills, Ky.; and great-grandchildren David and Heather Rous, John Franklin and Benjamin Payne Vest.

Margaret was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Ashland, where she taught the women’s Sunday school class for many years.
