Randy Sturgill Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1952 - 2006 Randy Sturgill - 1952-2006 Randy Sturgill, 54, of Ashland, Ky., passed away on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2006, following an apparent heart attack while he was at work at AK Steel. Mr. Sturgill was born May 15, 1952, in Ashland, a son of Betty Thompson Sturgill of Russell, Ky., and the late Glen Sturgill. He was a millwright at AK Steel, was of the Baptist faith and a 1970 graduate of Fairview High School. Additional survivors include his wife, Jo Ross Sturgill of Ashland; a son, Josh Sturgill and his wife, Sarah of Ashland; a daughter, Randi Jo Sturgill of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Debbie True and her husband, David and Judy Scaggs and her husband, Randy, all of Ashland; and a granddaughter, Kathryn Sturgill of Ashland. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor John Freeman. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight, July 14, 2006, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to steenfuneralhomes. com.

My father, Kermit Lynd, worked along side Randy for many years. I also new Josh when we were younger through our fathers. I just wanted to let Randy's family know that they are in my thoughts and prayers. My father was always very fond of Randy and talked about how good of a man he was. Once again, your family is on my mind.

Dear Jo, Randi, Josh, Sarah & Katie, I'm SO sorry about Randy. I just now found this site, and I wish we could be there for you. Greg's mom has taken a turn for the worse and I have been with her since 7:00 this morning. Collin is with her right now, and I will be going back in just a little while until Greg gets off work to spend the night with her. I would be there with all of you if I could.
