Estill H. Groves (1952-2006)
Estill H. Groves, 54, of 3616 Wildwood Drive, Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at his residence following a long illness. He was surrounded by his family when he was called to be with the Lord.
Mr. Groves was born March 4, 1952, in Ashland, a son of the late Harrison Robert an Gertrude Griffith Groves. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Westwood and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Groves was a self-employed carpenter who owned Groves Construction.
Mr. Groves is survived by his wife, Carol Perkins Groves of Ashland; two sons, Estill Hobert Groves II and his wife, Laura, and Anthony Robert Groves and his wife, Priscilla, all of Ashland; three daughters, Patricia Vannatter and her husband, Brad, Melissa Sue Groves and Melinda Enyart and her husband, Tim, all of Ashland; two brothers, Jess Groves of Kenova, W.Va., and Douglas Tackett of Brandon Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Barbara Hogsten of Westwood, Janet Lunsford of Ashland, Gertie Bostick of Rush, Ky., and Mary Fryer of Ashland; and nine grandchildren, Joshua Groves, Estill Groves III, Zachary Young, Luke Groves, Adam Groves, Ryan Young, Alex Enyart, Teagan Groves and Andrew Enyart.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Mike Rice. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
