Kenneth Tague (1937-2006)

Kenneth Tague, 68, of Ashland, Ky., died Aug. 17, 2006, at his residence.

Mr. Tague was born Dec. 30, 1937, in Zanesville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Tauge and survived by his mother, Mary Belle McIntire Tague of Philo, Ohio.

He was a retired adjuster with Grange Insurance, was a Navy veteran, a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, past exalted ruler of Elks BPOE No. 350, was instrumental in Elks National Scholarship Foundation and was very active with the underprivileged children’s Christmas Party.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Juanita Smith Tague; a son, Brian Tague of Ashland; two stepsons, Jeffrey Taylor of Albuquerque and Gary Browning of Zanesville; a daughter, Connie Clemens of Raleigh, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Elswick and Ava Marie Hall, both of Ashland; a brother, Gary Tague of Pickering, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Vandagriff of Dayton, Ohio; a half sister, Margaret “Peggy” Miller of Zanesville; grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Laura Taylor, Kathryn Taylor, Megan Taylor, Dylan Elswick, Travis Elswick, Stevie Dyer, Lakyn Browning and Blake Browning; and a host of loving family and friends.

A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Holy Family Catholic Church by Father John Noe. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No. 93 of Kenova, W.Va.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue in Ashland and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

There will be an Elks service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home by Lodge of Sorrow-Elks BPOE No. 350.

Friends may make contributions to American Heart and Lung Association, 1636 Nicholasville Road, Suite One, Lexington, KY 40503 or Elk’s Scholarship Fund, 900 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
