Dear Deva,
I am sorry so to hear about Steve. I moved to Nicholasville six years ago and rarely hear anything. But occasionally I get on the Internet and look at the Independent's obituaries. I saw his today and my heart is broken for you. Know that you are in my prayers and that Jesus cares when our hearts are broken. Lean on Him to fill the emptiness that you are feeling. With love and sympathy, Evelyn

Deva,
We love you and will do anything for you. Adam and Abby have been praying for you as well. Steve always made me laugh and I always gave him a hug, Abby remembers Steve with the "white" hair..so 7yr old like huh? I'll remember the visits to "camp" he really enjoyed visiting with us and most of all I'll never forget us all celebrating his birthday this year. I love you Deva and you know I pray for you always.

It's tearing us apart to not be able to be there for you, Deva. We've been reliving it all again from just three months ago, with Lisa's mom passing away. We want nothing more than to be there sharing our own grief with you and it's breaking our hearts that we can't. We aren't going to dwell on the details of why we can't be there, just know how badly we want to be. We have had some really good times and in the last couple of days I've been thinking about them from long ago and more recently. Weather or not we can be with you today, you will be in our hearts and minds. We will see you soon. I have found a couple of prayers for you.
Make Me Brave for Life
God, make me brave for life: oh, braver than this.
Let me straighten after pain, as a tree straightens after the rain,
Shining and lovely again.
God, make me brave for life; much braver than this.
As the blown grass lifts, let me rise
From sorrow with quiet eyes,
Knowing Thy way is wise.
God, make me brave, life brings
Such blinding things.
Help me to keep my sight;
Help me to see aright
That out of dark comes light.
Love Is Stronger Than Death
Love is stronger than death.
So, I must be content to know that
love is not affected by death-
it doesn’t end, it doesn’t diminish,
it doesn’t change.
Instead, love is immortalized
and eternalized through death.
And the possibility of that love ever
being damaged or broken
is eliminated forever.
I'll put my trust in love.
