Darlene Waugh Fairchild Jones - 1935-2006
Darlene Waugh Fairchild Jones, 71, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Jones was born June 15, 1935, in Boyd County, Ky., a daughter of the late Albert and Magdelene Skaggs Waugh.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Jones; and a daughter, Judy Kay Fairchild.
She was a former caregiver.
Surviving are a son, Charles Grant Fairchild Jr. of Flatwoods, Ky.; a daughter, Lois Zamoras of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Ralph Waugh of Baltimore and Ronald Waugh of Hilo, Hawaii; three sisters, Marjorie Lee Hurley of Baltimore, Virginia Cadabona of Los Angeles and Phyllis Kraska of Baltimore; 13 grandchildren, including Angee Davis of Ashland, whom she raised; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
The family will receive visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Darlene’s granddaughter, Angee Davis, 515 Hagan Court, Ashland.
