Paul Bradford - 1915-2006

Paul Bradford, 91, of Ashland, Ky., died Sept. 9, 2006, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born April 20, 1915, in New Boston, Ohio, a son of the late Hugh Dennis Bradford and the late Inez Allen Bradford.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter’s husband, Mike Porter; a brother, William Bradford; and sisters Elizabeth Jackson, Alberta Hale and Naomi Lorts.

He was retired from Armco Steel Corp. and was a World War II Army veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart and other medals. He was a member of South Ashland United Methodist Church and Steelworkers Local 1865 and was an avid bowler and gardener.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Kiser Bradford of Ashland; two sons, Gary Bradford and his wife, Paula, of Raceland, Ky., and Rob Bradford and his wife, Jan, of Ashland; a daughter, Cheryl Porter of Ashland; grandchildren Leigh Ann Terra, Emily Harris, Paul Bradford, Keith Porter and Jill Bradford; and great-grandchildren Trent Terra and Caroline Harris.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Lance Campbell and the Rev. Jim Nichols. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at the funeral home.
