Ruth Davis Davidson - 1922-2006

Ruth Davis Davidson, 84, of Summit, Ky., died Tuesday evening, Oct. 3, 2006, in Community Hospice Care Facility in Ashland, Ky.

She was born July 5, 1922, in Appalachia, Va., a daughter of the late James Bryant “J.B.” Davis Sr. and Ocie Pridemore Davis.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Mae Kiser, in 1999.

Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker, a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church in Ashland, a graduate of Jenkins High School and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Surviving are her loving husband of 67 years, Colbert A. Davidson of Summit; a daughter, Teresa Clevenger of Graydon Heights in Catlettsburg, Ky.; a brother, J.B. Davis Jr. of Fairfax, Va.; four sisters, Edna Mae Nolan of Johnson City, Tenn., Kathleen Pendlin of Pound, Va., Betty Jo Howell of Bryson City, N.C., and Jeanette Cantrell of Pound; grandchildren Tara Clevenger, Bryan Clevenger, Scott Kiser, Trina Kiser Litteral, Kelli Kiser Goldie and Amanda Kiser Bell; and great-grandchildren Troy Goldie, Tiffany Goldie, J.T. Goldie, Trevor Litteral, Trent Litteral, Dylan Clevenger, Breanna Clevenger and Brooklyn Clevenger.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Junior Nolan. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Uncle Colbert and family, I am sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth. I just found out today. I wish I could be there with you all. I know how much she meant to Meme and Mom. I have a lot of memories of her & Meme (Edna) together and what fun they had. You are in our thoughts and we love you all.

Colbert & Terri & family, We are sorry we could not be there but with hospital treatment every day we had a time trying to arrange it so we could. Ruth was one of a kind and a loving sister,mother and wife. Our memories are many and she will be missed by all who knew her. No words can express what she meant to all of us. Our love to all of you.

Im so sorry I cant be with you all, but fred is in hospital and not doing to good,been there over a month. My thoughts are with you and all the wonderful memories of aunt Ruth that can never be forgotten. My love to all of you
