Bonnie G. Frost (1916-2006)

Bonnie G. Frost, 90, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday morning, Oct. 14, 2006, in Wurtland Manor Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Frost was born July 9, 1916, in New Tazewell, Tenn., a daughter of the late William C. and Laura Davis Welch. She retired from Gallaher’s Gateway in 1986 after 20 years of service. She also worked at the Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., during WW II, but more than anything, she was a devoted mother and homemaker. She attended Unity Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Audie Minton, in 1937; her second husband, Elmer Frost, in 1966; a brother, Robert Welch; and two sisters, Hazel Mink and Lucille Perry.

Mrs. Frost is survived by two daughters, Nancy Ison and her husband Larry of Ashland and Anna Ruth Hays and her husband Tom of Ashland; five grandchildren, Paul T. Hays and his wife Joy and Scott D. Hays, both of Ashland, Sharon Hays Schuler and her husband Tim of Lexington, Becky Ison Puckett and her husband Josh of Louisville and Brett D. Ison of Ashland; and eight great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Hays, Angus E. Hays and Jeremiah B. Hays, all of Ashland, Austin J. England and Anna Grace England of Lexington, Matthew D. Hays and Tyler S. Hays of South Point, Ohio, and Amanda C. Puckett of Louisville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a dear sister-in-law, Anna Welch Parrish of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Steen Funeral Home- Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Harold Cathey and Dr. Floyd Paris will officiate. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions to Unity Baptist Church, 2320 29th St., Ashland, KY 41101 or to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
