Edna B. Layne - 1905-2006
Edna B. Layne, 100, of Cannonsburg, Ky., died Oct. 31, 2006, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
She was born Nov. 16, 1905, in Scioto County, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Fannie Parks Boyer.
Mrs. Layne was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Layne, in 1983.
She was a retired secretary with Armco Steel and a member of First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg, WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union) and Armco Veteran Girls. She was a graduate of Bowling Green College of Commerce in Bowling Green, Ky.
Surviving are a niece, Alice Lykins Hedrick of Supply, N.C.; a great-niece, Elizabeth Gue of Concord, N.C.; a great-nephew, Frederick Inghran of Nitro, W.Va.; and three great-great-nieces.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Stan Williams. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wheelersburg Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
