Margaret Elizabeth Gearhart (1922-2006)
Margaret Elizabeth Gearhart, 84, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Gearhart was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Ashland, a daughter of the late George Roy Sr. and Jenka Keyser Kramer. She was a graduate of Ashland Business College and was a bookkeeper for several years for Canteen, Electrolux and Community Business Service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and FOP No. 3 Women’s Auxillary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred Gearhart; two brothers, Wayne Kramer and Benny Kramer; and a sister, Ruth Carlyle.
Mrs. Gearhart is survived by three daughters, Ruth Whitman and husband Gene of Ashland, Martha J. Boggs of Spartanburg, S.C., and Corrine Gearhart of Sebastopol, Calif.; a brother, George R. Kramer Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Ashland; and grandchildren, Wilson J. Boggs of Spartanburg, Gretchen Smith and husband Joey of Spartanburg and Shannon Whitman of Lexington, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Donald Young. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 13, 2006, at the funeral home.
