Gary W. Maze - 1942-2006

Gary W. Maze, 64, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Community Hospice Care Center.

Mr. Maze was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Bath County, Ky., a son of the late Henry W. and Ruby Darrell Maze. He was a retired electrician with the IBEW Union and an avid reader.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Davis Maze of Ashland; a son, Dr. James G. “Butch” Maze and his wife, Michelle of Lake Charles, La.; a daughter, Suzie Maze Crump and her husband, Jeff of Ashland; a brother, Dennis A. Maze of Ashland; two sisters, Patty Sublett of Ashland and Linda Blair and her husband, Jack of Ironton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Wesley, Charlie and Mollie Maze and Tanner and Hunter Crump; a very special great-niece and great-nephew, Allie and Clay Reynolds; three nephews, Jason Blair, Tieg Maze and Paige Maze; and a niece, Lisa Reynolds.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Don Young. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.

So sorry to hear of your loss! Julie told us yesterday, and then read the obit today. May God strengthen you all through this time of sorrow, and may the good times you have had with Gary fill the void of his passing. Look forward to having you back in the neighborhood next week.
