Murl M. Lunsford (1928-2007)
Murl M. Lunsford, 78, of Ashland, Ky., died Feb. 23, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Lunsford was born June 24, 1928, in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Henry and Dora Waddell Burton.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Lunsford in 1984; brothers, Homer and Junior Burton; and a grandchild, Tim Hennecke.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, George Lunsford and wife, Sandra and Carl Lunsford and wife, Janet, all of Ashland; a daughter, Darlene Hennecke and husband, Carl Ray of Naples, Ky.; two brothers, Clifford Burton of Morehead, Ky., and Estill Burton of Springfield, Ohio; a sister, Sue Dewitt of Morehead, Ky.; grandchildren, Julie Crace, Tammy Bailey, Carla Bryant, Ray Gene Hennecke, Angela Bruce and Michael Lunsford; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will be in Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County, Ky.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at the funeral home.
