Ruth M. Wills - 1923-2007

Ruth M. Wills, 83, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday morning, March 29, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Wills was born June 23, 1923, in Marfrance, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lloyd Wilson and Elva Mae Martin Lilly. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Wesley Sunday School Class and a member of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Wills; and two sons, William Lewis Wills and Cary Lee Wills.

Mrs. Wills is survived by two sons, W. Bryan Wills and wife Ginger of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mark Alan Wills of Ashland; a daughter, Patricia “Patty” Susan Holbrook and husband Danny of Ashland; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Sparks Wills of Flatwoods, Ky.; a sister, Kathryn Ventura of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren, Amanda K. Wall and husband Nick, Jason L. Wills, Katie L. Holbrook, Matthew A.T. Wills and Joshua A. Wills.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Wayne Watts and the Rev. Gary Arrington. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemtery in Rainelle, W.Va.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland and an hour before services Sunday at the church.

A commital service will be at noon Monday at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to the Centenary United Methodist Church, 2901 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
