Herman L. Douglas
Herman L. Douglas, 69, of Hobart, Ind., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007.
He was a Hobart resident for the past 36 years and was formerly of Kentucky.
Herman retired from U.S. Steel in 2000. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved participating in the South Haven American Legion Turkey Shoot. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 35 years, Wanda Douglas of Hobart; two sons, Stephen Douglas of Batesville, Ind., and Harvey J. Douglas of Hobart; two sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Fannin of Rush, Ky., and Barbara Shaffer of Ashland, Ky.; two brothers, Roosevelt “TR” (Connie) Douglas of Ashland and Frank (Juanita) Douglas of Rockwood, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Natalie L. and Samuel L. Douglas of Batesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey A. and Verna Douglas, and two brothers, Harvey Douglas Jr. and Robert Douglas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Clell Lucas. Burial will be in Coalton Cemetery.
