Teresa “Terrah” Merritt - 1954-2007
Teresa “Terrah” Merritt, 52, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 16, at Community Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Merritt was born Dec. 3, 1954, in Ashland, a daughter of the Rev. Ralph and Delores Middleton Hester of Ashland.
She was a singer and song- writer and attended 13th Street Free Will Baptist Church and Faith Free Will Baptist Church. She was a singer and member of the KYOVA Gospel Hour and the Harvest Call gospel group.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Merritt; a son, Richard (Carla) Merritt of San Marcos, Texas; a daughter, Deana Merritt of Austin, Texas; three nieces, Taylor and Lacey Tardy and Allee Johnston, all of Ashland; two sisters, Diana (Jerry) Griffith of Ashland and Denise Crye of Ashland; two grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Merritt.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel with Brother Rick May officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
