Lloyd Mason Daniel - 1936-2007
Lloyd Mason Daniel, 70, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Ashland, a son of the late Albert Mason and Jo Frances Turner Daniel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Daniel.
He retired from Pennco, served in the National Guard and in the U.S. Army in Italy and was a Baptist. He was Scoutmaster of Ashland Boy Scout Troop 102 from 1957 to 1964.
Lloyd’s first priorities were his wife, family and home, but he had wide-ranging interests including drawing, painting, woodworking, hunting, fishing and nature.
Surviving are his wife, Velma Blair Daniel, whom he married on Oct. 23, 1992; daughters Lisa Walters, Kathy (Tony) Adkins and Hazel (Mike) McCoy, all of Ashland; three brothers, Robert L. Daniels of Bigfork, Mont., James D. Daniel of Grayson, Ky., and Phillip L. Daniel of Alliance, Ohio; a sister, Dorotha M. Ingle of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and grandchildren Skyler Walters, Shannon Adkins, Megan Adkins, Shelly McCoy and Josh McCoy.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. William McCoy. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
