Billie Georgene Fosson - 1941-2007

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Psalms 116:15.

Billie Georgene Fosson, 65, was called home by her Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2007.

Ms. Billie was born July 25, 1941, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Elisha and Lillian Kazee Boggs. She was also preceded in death by her loving nephew and niece, Michael Miller and Teresa Kaye Sperry.

She was employed in the rigger shop at Armco, where she retired with a disability.

In 1990, Ms. Billie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Heritage Free Will Baptist Church in Cannonsburg, Ky. She was treasurer of the Women Active for Christ for many years and was a great supporter of missions. She loved her Lord and her church, faithfully attending and working until illness made her homebound. Even then, she was an ardent supporter and prayer warrior for the church. Now her work here is complete. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8.

Surviving are her son, Greg (Melissa) Fosson of Ashland; her sister and best friend, Carolyn (Bobby) McComas Caudill of Westwood, Ky.; two grandchildren, Michael Fosson of Ashland and Kristin Fosson of Red House, W.Va.; a great-grandson, Peyton Harris of Red House; a very close and dear friend, Dolly Daniels of Ashland; and her faithful canine companion, Ebony.

Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 29, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland and after 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral/worship service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim York and the Rev. James Mitchell. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heritage Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 5060, Ashland, KY 41105.

Condolences may be sent to steenfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Greg, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I have very fond memories of your family, your relatives that lived on my street, and lots of hours at your grandparents house- they were wonderful people. I wish the very best for your family.
