Phyllis, Shanna and Jerry & Family: I loved Gary very much and will miss him. We didn't always express our feelings like we should but he knew we all loved him and cared deeply for him. I remember going deer hunting with him at the farm. It wouldn't be daylight and he knew I would be afraid by myself, he would always say I'll be right around the hill if you need me. I know he's up there taking care of our dear mother & dad, Nancy, Ishmael, Larry & Jean. I love you all very much and my prayers are with you at this sad time in your lives. Love, Brenda

I had the pleasure of knowing Gary for twenty years. He was a great man and was a positive influence on his grandchildren and those around him. He was always willing to do things for other people even though he was a busy man. Our society would be a better place if there were more men like him. He will live on through the lessons his family and others learned from him over the years.

To my Dad: It has been one week since you left us. I still can't believe it is true. It seems like a huge nightmare....I just wish that I would wake up! I love you so much and I will miss you for the rest of my life. My heart is broken into a million pieces....I feel like a part of me died when you passed away. I try to keep busy and not even think about this just to ease my pain. I would have gladly taken your place that day....I LOVE you so much dad! You were loved by so many people. You had such a huge crowd at your services...you would have been proud! I pray that you & cousin Larry are up there catching the biggest Bass ever!! I know that everyone dies but when someone like you passes away it is just unbelieveable! Like one cousin said when he found out...."Not Gary, he is larger than life" I love you dad and I know I will see you again one day. Your Daughter, Shanna

Phyllis, Jerry, Shanna, and Family- I was very saddened to hear the news. I loved Gary very much. I have fond memories of going camping with you all at Ky. Lake when Shanna and I were young. I remember him taking us out on the lake in his bass boat. He went so fast that it almost took my breath away! I sure do miss all those times when we all got together- at Mamaw's, the farm, and family reunions. Even though we don't really get together like we used to, I still love you all very much. I am so sorry for your loss. I know my dear Mother is so happy to be with her brother again. One day we will all be together again- and what a joyous reunion it will be. Love, Angie

Jerry, My father died at the age of 61, right before Jake was born.It broke the collective heart of our family, as I know it must be yours right now. When it hurts the most, focus on your wonderful memories and how you can still see him in the faces and actions of your kids. I am so very sorry for you all. A lot of people will say, "we're here for you" but we truly ARE here for you, so please stay in touch! Love, Missy
