Mary Louise GreenMary “Louise” Green - 1934-2007

Mary “Louise” Green, 73, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Sandy Hook, Ky., died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born June 2, 1934, in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Willard Mayse and Charity Stevens Lewis.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Green.

She was a licensed beautician and a former employee of the C.H. Parsons Co. She attended Grassland Community Church, where she was a member of the Friendship Circle. She was former president of the Democratic Women’s Society.

Surviving are two sons, James Daniel Green and his wife, Debra, and David Robert Green and his wife, Eva, all of Rush, Ky.; grandchildren Crystal Claar, David Michael Green, Janell Williams, James Roger “J.R.” Green, Chris Green, Karen Green and Debrah Green; and great-grandchildren Alexis Claar, Tyler Rose and Jacob Claar and soon-to-be- born Bentley.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. David Herndon. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2007, at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.

James and David, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families in your time of sorrow. I have great memories of the time spent with your mom. I was always in awe of her many talents, she loved her family and enjoyed life to its fullest. She will be truly missed.
