Ruth Pearl Childers Harrod Savage - 1915-2007
Ruth Pearl Childers Harrod Savage, 92, of Ashland, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Savage was born March 13, 1915, in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Joe and Lena E. Richardson Childers.
She was the widow of Velmer Savage and also was preceded in death by her stepson, Gerald Savage, and a sister, Elizabeth Preston.
She was a mebmer of Westwood Christian Church and a past member of Forest Rose 656. She was a clerk with the former Woolco Department Store.
Mrs. Savage is survived by a stepdaughter, Wanda Wickline of Nitro, W.Va., and her two children, Ruth (Greg) Loftis of Nitro and John Wickline of Sydney, Australia; a nephew, Bill Crouch of St. Albans, W.Va.; cousins Edna Tout of Mount Sterling, Margaret Childers of Louisville, Ella Ruth Elam of New York and Betty Cogan of Ashland; and a very special family member, Billie Cogan of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel by Dean Jackson, minister. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call an hour before services at the chapel.
Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
