
Bernice “Bernie” Glaessel Lowman (1913-2007)
Bernice “Bernie” Glaessel Lowman, 94, died Sept. 17, 2007, in Trinity Station in Flatwoods, Ky.
She was born April 25, 1913, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., a daughter of the late Lewis Henry and Emma Kenning Glaessel.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowman was preceded in death by her husband, Harry King Lowman, in 1977; a brother, Forest Glaessel; and three sisters, Lucille, Mavis and Erma.
She was a homemaker, a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a den mother, very active in the Boyd County Democratic Women’s Club and a member of the Bellefonte Country Club, where she enjoyed golf and bridge.
Surviving are a son, E.B. Lowman II and his wife, Jody, of Ashland; grandchildren Kim Sutton and husband Aaron, E.B. Lowman III and wife Lyndi and Sarah Lowman, all of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Ardene Glaessel of Janesville, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews, including nephews Jerry Lowman and wife Kelli of Ashland and Lanny Lowman and wife Janet of Henderson, Nev., and and niece Nancy Christie and husband Wylie Jr. of Oregon.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by the Rev. Ike Nicholson and the Rev. B. Dinsmore Nesbit. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland and an hour before services at the church.
