Evelyn Richmond Oakley - 1928-2007
Evelyn Richmond Oakley, 79, of Ashland, Ky., died Nov. 4, 2007, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Oakley was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Montcoal, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter Clifford and Gertrude Canterbury Richmond.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice G. Oakley.
She was employed with Tucker Optical for 10 years and of the Presbyterian faith. She was a former member of the South Point Garden Club and the South Point Women’s Club.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Maurice J. Oakley and wife Judy of Ashland and Donald A. Oakley and wife Pam of Burlington, Ky.; a sister, Maxine Hamilton of Charleston, W.Va.; grandchildren Chip and wife Joy and Chris, Sarah, Amanda, Max, Candi and Julie; and great-grandchildren Madeline and Chelsea.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Richard Smith. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
