Bobby & Brittany I worked with attendance at Russell High School and I remember talking to your dad on the phone. He cared about you both and wanted the best for each of you. I am so sorry to hear of his death. God will help you through this sad time.

Mr.and Mrs. Robert Samples, Though we have never personally met, I feel as if I have been acquainted with you through having known each of your sons at Emory and Henry, and consequently, through an ongoing friendship with Mark over the years. At this particular time, I want to express my sadness over the news of Brett's death. In college, we enjoyed the parallel interests of painting and running, thus establishing a friendship. I shall always recall his creativity, sensitivity and encouragement towards my own developing work. Brett can also take credit for some of my first lessons in car maintenance, as he generously taught me how to change the spark plugs in my first vehicle--a VW Beetle. Those were some fun days. He was a person with a big heart and a generous spirit, and I am so grateful to have known him when I did. May you find some peace in the silence of your sadness. Sincerely, Rhonda Hodder

To the family of Brett. I was so sorry to hear about him. I met him a few months ago when he came into the store where I worked. He was a really nice man. I know what you're going through, because I lost my son a year ago in a car accident. He was killed on his way to work. My prayers are with you.
