
James Edward Wright
James Edward Wright of Ashland died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Salyers and his father, Calvin Wright; his wife, Nellie Ferguson Wright; two sisters, Beatrice Henson and Emma Wright; and two brothers, Calvin Wright and Delbert Salyers.
Surviving are sisters including Fay McNurlin and Beulah Phillips; one brother, Orville Wright; one daughter, Naomi Twinam; one son, Gary M. Wright; and four grandchildren, Shawn Wright, Kristi Sartin, Rob Triplett and Misty Triplett. He had five great-grandchildren, Karis Sartin, Nathan Sartin, Daniel Sartin, Montana Sparks and Willow Triplett.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy and was retired from Armco Steel Corp.
He loved music, singing and playing guitar for several years in numerous churches in this region. His Christian life was a living testament of a strong faith which is admired by those who knew and loved him.
His viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. and the funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 24 at Marshall Steen Funeral Home on 13th Street in Ashland. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
