
Marva Ward - 1946-2007
Marva Louise Ward, 61, of Ashland died Monday at her home. The Cleveland native was born July 23, 1946, the daughter of the late William and Mary Akison Butler. She was a member of Christ Temple Church in Ashland, where she was a member of the choir and the adult Sunday school class. She was a former RTA Busdriver in Cleveland.
Survivors include one son, Demitrius Butler of Cleveland; four daughters, Wanda Faye Butler of Cleveland, Bonita Butler of Ashland, Carlene Butler of Euclid, Ohio and Adrianne Ward of Ashland; three brothers, William Junior Butler, Billy Akison and Gregory Butler, all of Cleveland; two sisters, Mabel Love and Darrie Butler, both of Cleveland; eight grandsons; 10 granddaughters; three great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; her former husband, Maxie Ward of Columbus and a host of loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at Christ Temple Church in Ashland, with Suffragan Bishop Elzy Thomas officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel, in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
