
Helen Rose Fisher Kopp - 1921-2007
Helen Rose Fisher Kopp, 86, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday evening, Dec. 31, 2007, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.
She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Henry Washington and Martha Jane Simmons Fisher.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Kopp, who passed away in 2006; a son, Charles Frederick Kopp; three brothers, George Allen Fisher, Vernon Fisher and Sidney Fisher; and three sisters, Elma Fisher, Verneena Mae Fisher and Eloise Armstrong.
She was former co-owner and operator of Kopp’s Office Supply in Ashland. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland, a 1939 graduate of Ashland High School and a former member of the Westwood Homemakers, United Commercial Travelers and Music Art & Culture Club. She enjoyed many years working the election polls.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane Geis and husband Jeffrey of Cincinnati; a daughter-in-law, Debra Kopp of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Willis Fisher of Sisters, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Brandon Kopp, both of Lexington.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Quinten Lockwood. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
