Helen Rose Fisher Kopp Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1921 - 2007 Helen Rose Fisher Kopp - 1921-2007 Helen Rose Fisher Kopp, 86, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday evening, Dec. 31, 2007, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Henry Washington and Martha Jane Simmons Fisher. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Kopp, who passed away in 2006; a son, Charles Frederick Kopp; three brothers, George Allen Fisher, Vernon Fisher and Sidney Fisher; and three sisters, Elma Fisher, Verneena Mae Fisher and Eloise Armstrong. She was former co-owner and operator of Kopp’s Office Supply in Ashland. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland, a 1939 graduate of Ashland High School and a former member of the Westwood Homemakers, United Commercial Travelers and Music Art & Culture Club. She enjoyed many years working the election polls. Surviving are a daughter, Jane Geis and husband Jeffrey of Cincinnati; a daughter-in-law, Debra Kopp of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Willis Fisher of Sisters, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Brandon Kopp, both of Lexington. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Quinten Lockwood. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2008, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.steenfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Jane, I had hoped to be able to come to Helen's funeral but the weather and my own infirmaties have stopped me. Please accept my sympathy in your loss. Even though she had suffered a long illness it is still hard to lose one's Mother but you will be able to remember all the good times later. Juliette

I am sorry for your mom passing away.I loved her very much. I spent a lot of time with her and to me she was family as you are. I was on vacation. I did not know she passed away untill i got to work. Sorry I was not ther when Helen passed away. Iwas on vacation and no one called me. Itoke care of her almost every day.She was family to me.Iloved her and also your dad. I feel so empty without her.I want you to know she was always smiling when I would come in the room. And when something was wrong with her I knew it. I feel guilty that I WAS NOT THERE MAYBE I COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING SINCE I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD UNDERSTAND HER.I will miss her very much.Sorry I didnot get to see her but I just got back to work and did not know. I don;t get the paper.Iknow you are hurting as I am. You know I lost my mom oct1 this year.But one thing I do know she is in heaven with my mom.Could i ask you a favor When you fell like it could you send me a picture of her and your dad.I am so so sorry for your pain.
