Arbadella Higgins Thomas Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1936 - 2008 Arbadella Higgins Thomas (1936-2008) Arbadella Higgins Thomas, age 71, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Thomas was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Dennie and Anna Laura Wilson Higgins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leonard Arliss Thomas on July 26, 2007. She was a former employee of the Kitchen Building, Parsons Department Store and Gibson Brothers Furniture. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and an avid bowler. Surviving are a daughter, Lenora Thomas of Ashland and a host of loving family and friends. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum by Suffragan Bishop Elzy Thomas. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Temple Church, 2601 Lexington Ave., Ashland, KY 41101. Lenora, I know it's been years since we talked, but I just saw Arbie's obituary online, and also that Leonard passed last summer. Please know that I remember them both with great fondness, and am very sorry for your loss. Maxine

It was with great sadness we heard of Arbie's passing. She was one of the finest people our family knew and will be missed by all that knew her. Arbie and Leonard were like family and we know they felt the same about us. We know Arbie, Leonard and my Mom are together and waiting to see us again. Lenora, please accept our sincere sympathy. Lenora, I am just heartbroken. I counted Arbie as one of my very dearest friends. We had so many good times together. I have many great memories of our times together and our long talks. lenora i am so sorry to here about your mom. my prayers are with you at this time.if you ever need someone to talk to you can always call or e-mail me at any time. i know we have not talk lately. but you know we have been friends fo a long time. my mom and family keep me in touch with what is going on in ashland.i did not know you lived in ashland. i will try to contact you when i get home. friends forever cissy
