Harriet L. Hatfield (1921-2008)
Harriet L. Hatfield, 86, of Delaware, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 in the Arbors At Delaware.
She was born May 21, 1921, in Ashland, Ky., to Charles and Bessie (Bradshaw) Smith. She was a homemaker and lived her lifetime in Ashland before coming to Delaware six months ago to make her home with her niece, Sandy Sealy of Delaware.
She is also survived by a niece, Donna Sparks of Ashland; four nephews, Rick and Danny Simpson, both of Lexington, Ky., Claude Hignite Jr. of Ashland and Brent Smith of Huntington, W.Va.; a cousin, Linda Jameson of Ashland; and special friends, Darlene and Dick Allen of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas in 1940; three sisters, Edna Eubanks, Alice Simpson and Margaret Hignite; and two brothers, Charles Roscoe Smith and John E. Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with the Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.
